Can I use it with Bartender, Ice or Hidden Bar?
Run one menu bar manager at a time. Two apps hiding icons at once will fight over the same space. NotchRail won’t start while Hidden Bar is running; quit other managers first.
Why does it need Accessibility and Screen Recording?
Only for the scrolling row. Screen Recording lets it draw your real icons and their menus in the row; Accessibility opens each app’s original menu. Images stay in memory and are never saved or sent. Without these permissions, hiding and expanding still work.
Will macOS show a recording indicator?
macOS may show its screen recording indicator while the row is in use. NotchRail keeps the system’s own privacy and sharing indicators out of the scrolling row, so they stay visible.
Does it connect to the internet?
No. The app makes no network connections. Settings stay on your Mac.
Is the interface in English?
Not yet. The current early-access build’s menus and settings are in Korean. This website is available in English and Korean.
Does every menu bar app work in the row?
Most standard menus do. Submenus and some custom pop-over panels are only partly supported. NotchRail relies on compatibility behavior that a future macOS update may change. See the known limits.
What if something looks wrong?
Right-click the arrow and choose to expand the originals without scrolling, or simply quit NotchRail. Quitting always brings every hidden icon back.
