Clicking the arrow doesn’t hide anything

The | divider must be to the left of the arrow. Hold ⌘ and drag it into place. NotchRail deliberately hides nothing until the order is right.

The row doesn’t scroll — only the originals appear

That is the basic mode. Allow Accessibility and Screen Recording from Settings (right-click the arrow → Settings…), then quit and reopen NotchRail. If a permission is later removed, NotchRail switches back to basic mode instead of quitting.

An icon shows two letters instead of its picture

Its image couldn’t be captured for a moment. NotchRail retries automatically and keeps the icon disabled until the real image is back, so you never click the wrong app.

An app’s menu doesn’t open from the row

Some apps draw custom panels that can’t be opened from another place. Right-click the arrow and choose to expand the originals without scrolling, then use the app’s icon directly.

Getting everything back

Quit NotchRail from its menu. Quitting removes its own divider and immediately reveals every hidden icon. Your other apps’ settings are never changed.

Reporting a problem

Include your Mac model, macOS version, NotchRail version, and the menu bar app involved. Avoid sending screenshots with private content.
